My Hurricane Claim was delayed, denied or underpaid by my carrier, what can I do?

If your Hurricane Helene or Milton claim was denied or underpaid, we can help re-open your claim to dispute the carrier’s low payment.  For 20 years the attorneys at the Hurricane Law Group have handled hurricane claims in Florida and we have recovered hundreds of millions of dollars in claim payments for our clients.  In fact, we were the first firm in the country to exclusively handle hurricane claims

Our Claims Process

Review your Policy

REVIEW
- your policy to understand your rights and obligations.

Analyze Magnifying Glass

ANALYZE
- claim documents, denial letters and estimates from the insurance carrier.

VALUE
-
estimate the scope of your damages and value of your loss.

SUPPLIMENT
- present the true value of your claim to your carrier.

NEGOTIATE
- the value of your loss with your carrier to seek the best possible settlement.

ARBITRATE
- many policies have Appraisal provisions (similar to arbitration), which can be used to settle valuation disputes.

LITIGATE
- the vast majority of our claims do not require litigation, but when necessary we are zealous advocates for our clients.

Do I need an Attorney or a Public Adjuster?

Paul Berger, the founder of the firm holds both licenses, but due to recent changes in the law, public adjusters have little ability to settle your claim in Florida.  As lawyers we have numerous options including litigation to get the claim paid. A public adjuster does not. If the insurance company acts in bad faith (delays claim processing, wrongfully denies a valid claim or violates certain Florida statutes), an attorney can pursue claims for damages resulting from that bad faith. Public adjusters do not have the ability to take legal action against the insurer.
